Spring Garden Restaurant & Bar Bermuda

$$, Caribbean

UPDATE: Spring Garden has closed down in March 2018 after 20 years of operation.

Located in Hamilton City of Bermuda, Spring Garden does give you a garden setting although surrounded by buildings almost in all sides. The palm trees rise from inside the restaurant premises and you can choose to sit right under them. Or there is also an inside seating.

If you are looking for Caribbean food, particularly Bajan food as they call it in Barbados, then this is the place to come. Although the menu is not elaborate, they do serve some Barbadian delicacies like the pan fried flying fish. With music like soca and reggae playing in the background, and jovial local diners, the atmosphere in the restaurant is relaxed and is of different pace all together.

There are daily specials. Try out the Bajan fish cakes, they prepare it quite well. During season, they serve lobsters and prepare it in different styles including curried, broiled and steamed. Another nice dish is the mahimahi served in creole sauce, with peas and rice.

For desserts, coconut cream pie or raspberry-mango cheesecake are the ones to go for. There is a Friday bargain buffet lunch served at Spring Garden which is quite popular to the locals, particularly with those with Caribbean connections.

So if you like to join the locals for Friday lunch here, you can eat as much you like for a fixed but very reasonable price. They also provide take out services.

Spring Garden accepts credit cards. Dress code is smart casual.

My husband and I make a point to stop at the Spring Garden for lunch whenever we are in Bermuda. My husband enjoys the Bahamian food, I get something different every time and it's always been good.

We especially like the laid back vibe out on the patio, and we end up sitting for a while and having a drink (or three! lol) with our lunch. They have very tasty Rum Swizzles, and it has become our go-to spot for our first Rum Swizzle on the Island. We love the Spring Garden.

Robert/Leslie/Jayson Seaman (August 2012)
I had visited Spring Gardens many times before on my sailing trips to Bermuda. Always enjoyed the food, music, people, and Rudi, the Owner/Manager. This time I took my wife and son to Spring Garden for the first time, they also enjoyed their time there. We were in Bermuda for 7 days, and spent 5 days eating and drinking there.

The highlight of my trip was I had misplaced my pouch, with all my valueables(credit cards, green card, soc sec card, Insulin). I had lost it in the Spring Garden. It was found by Victor who works there, Thank you Victor. There are still some honest people around. We will be in Bermuda again next year same time. Again many, many thanks to RUDI and VICTOR, and EVERYONE at the Spring Gardens.
