Electronic Fog
Hutchison Effect in Bermuda Triangle?

One of the explanations of Bermuda Triangle disappearances is based on electronic fog - something similar to what the Canadian scientist John Hutchison could demonstrate in his own lab. It is something like a grayish cloud of electromagnetic fields that get formed above the ocean. Such electronic fog seems to appear from nowhere and completely engulfs a ship or an aircraft.

The fog then keeps moving along with the ship or the plane. And soon, all the electronic systems and the instruments start malfunctioning. Nothing works correctly any longer. Spatial disorientation and time distortion starts. And finally the ship or the aircraft can even disintegrate or disappear without a trace.

So far, all such incidents of electronic fog had been described as supernatural phenomena, or as mere sensational stories from writers wanting to sell their own books on Bermuda Triangle. This is despite the fact that some of the real SOS calls quoting the strange fog, actually came from veteran and experienced pilots or coast guards.

Due to lack of any scientific explanations, these have been so far treated as unreal tales.

Real experience

Here is a real incidence of electronic fog as experienced by a veteran pilot and now an author - Bruce Gernon (see his personal comments below). While he was flying his classic Bonanza along with his father in 1970, an elliptical shaped cloud started forming ahead of them about 3 miles off Andros island. Before he could get out of the cloud, it engulfed the plane creating a tunnel around them.

While flying through the tunnel at 10,000ft they saw the cloud around them forming lines and slowly rotating and spiraling in anti-clockwise direction while propelling them forward. They started having a feeling of zero gravity and all navigational systems started to collapse.

Luckily, the cloud (i.e. the electronic fog) suddenly disintegrated right over Miami beach (which is one corner of Bermuda Triangle), and they were again spotted in the radar. However by then they traveled through the tunnel for 100 miles taking 30 minutes less than the time it normally takes.

In another Bermuda Triangle incident, an experienced pilot Jenson reported that he was lost in a cloud only 150 feet above the ground. There was no reason for the cloud to have formed at such low altitude. His voice was heard again after 11 hours, about 600 miles away from where he was lost earlier and that too long after his fuel was over. He vanished again without a trace.

Is it Hutchison Effect?

So what does Hutchison effect mean and what does it have to do with Bermuda Triangle?

It was in 1979, John Hutchison had shown that if electromagnetic fields of different wave lengths interplay with each other, at some point there may be strange things happening like - water swirling in a cup, objects like wood or metal start rising from the floor and float around, or some objects can even shoot off at fantastic speed.

Electromagnetism is the magnetic field that gets generated if a current is passed through a wire or a coil. Hutchison used his own apartment in Vancouver for his experiments. Due to lack of space, he crammed his many instruments in his small apartment. Almost all of them were crude machines generating different wavelengths of electromagnetic fields and working on normal power supply.

He demonstrated the strange behavior of objects more than 750 times and proved that due to interplay of such electromagnetic fields, apparently weird things can happen. For example metals melt, break by sliding sidewise, become white hot but do not burn anything that touches it.

There were cases where glass mirror got shattered outside his house, neighbors complained that objects in their houses started rising automatically from the floor. In fact, Hutchison himself observed such strange phenomenon for the first time when he left all his machines powered on while working on some other experiments. An object unexpectedly touched his shoulder. He turned around to see that the object had risen from the floor and was now floating in the air.

John Hutchison has himself observed strange formation of metallic type fog which he could not see through. Many of the remarkable results were photographed and documented by McDonnell Douglas Aerospace and the Max Planck Institute in Germany.

Hutchison goes on to say "I have personally experienced the grayish-type mist when I was doing my high voltage research; and this mist would appear and disappear. To look at it, it looks like metallic. I couldn’t see through it. So it exists . . .it exists!"

Commenting on the Bermuda Triangle incidences around electronic fog, he said "It is highly probable that nature can form these fields on her own and create the right situation for the ship or aircraft to either totally disintegrate or disappear into another dimension or domain".

While Hutchison's effect of electromagnetism has been proven, no one still knows why it actually happens and when will it exactly happen if the electromagnetic fields interplay. Because, it is also observed that there is no fixed rule by which one can predictably create such strange effects. 99% of the time, it may not happen at all.

However, you can well imagine if Hutchison could generate such incredible effects with his handmade machines operating only out of his apartment's usual power supply, what may be the amount of energy unleashed if nature creates such effects. I guess a hint of such overwhelming power can be understood when we see lightning in the sky generating massive electrical power that can easily destroy even large buildings.

Is it Roll Cloud?

Roll cloud as the name suggests has a tube like formation and creates a hollow tunnel inside. Although such formation of roll cloud is very rare but it is known that such formation does take place. And such cloud can extend to a long distance in the sky into the horizon.

Possibility of an aircraft getting into such roll cloud and passing through that tunnel can not also be ruled out. However what happens inside the core of the tunnel is not yet known. Does it actually propel a plane forward radically increasing its speed? If that happens then it can be understood that with fast moving cloud layers full of electrical charges can create strong magnetic fields in the tunnel that can affect the navigational systems of the plane. However it is not yet a proven theory.

Dear Raj, For your information - I created the term Electronic Fog in 1976 shortly after Charles Berlitz's book THE BERMUDA TRIANGLE came out. I played a major role in his book WIHTOUT A TRACE. If you Google my name you will see many pages about my experience in the Bermuda Triangle and my research.

I was surprised to read about John since he has faded away after he was never able to repeat his experiment and debunked on TV and gone off to do other research projects. I have talked with him and been on TV with him and he said on TV that my Electronic Fog is real.

My second book on the subject of Electronic Fog will be published this summer and it will include a chapter you will be interested in about an incredible event that has never before been published that happened in your beloved island of Bermuda.

Heard about electrical fog on TV in connection with explanation of Bermuda Triangle anomalies. Interviewee said that NASA had confirmed such fog resulting from intense lightning creating antimatter and attendant energies that could produce time-space warps which could explain early arrivals and/or lost time in the Triangle. I do not know if these so-called facts are true. The Hutchinson effect seems to parallel some of this at a much lower power level. The mention of electromagnetic fields interacting at different wave lengths made me think about so-called torsion fields and accounts of two counter-rotating cylinders that were electro magnetized and produced unusual anti-gravity effects after they were turned off.

My personal belief is that extreme electromagnetic fields appear to have something to do with altering space-time and if the stories and videos of UFOs making impossible right-angle turns at thousands of miles per hour are true, then the only way the beings inside can survive such non-ballistic behavior is for them to "not be moving" relative to their spacecraft. This means they are in an EM induced space-time bubble that punches a hole (wormhole) in space-time and they feel no acceleration speed or elapsed time, all of which register as zero in the ship. The various colors associated with UFOs also speak to extreme EM fields as they suggest the colors of EM ionized air around these unidentified objects with insane speeds.
