Located within the Fairmont Southampton Hotel, Newport Room Bermuda serves some of the finest French cuisine in the island.    My wife & I first stayed in Fairmont Southampton in 2003. It was mostly out of convenience that we made a reservation at the Newport Room Bermuda for the first time.     But every time thereafter whenever we visit the island, we keep coming back to this elegant and exclusive restaurant at least for once.

Newport Room Bermuda has a luxury yacht-style environment.     It adds a touch of nostalgia, presenting scenes from the Newport Bermuda sailing race that started in 1938 from Newport, Rhode Island and is still held today.

 

A dining attendant greets you as you enter the Newport Room Bermuda. There are small replicas of sailing boats placed in the middle of the dining room. 

 

With wide selection of international wine served in Irish crystal, we would go for house-oak smoked salmon to start with. We would then start with our favorite main dishes - pan seared arctic char and bay scallops in a lobster-vanilla sauce.  

 

Some of the other favorite choices would be the Angus beef tenderloin with tomato tart and Madeira jus, or crab crusted grouper. Finally, we would finish it off with our favorite desert, the soufflé of the day. 

Newport Room Bermuda is definitely an upscale restaurant. A three course fixed price menu will cost 75$. Main courses cost from 35$ to 45$.    The restaurant is a bit formal and requires men to wear jackets. Ties are preferred.     Open Hours  Daily 6:30pm - 10pm  Newport Room is usually closed in the month of January.
