Bermuda Water Temperature and Visibility

Due to the nearby warm water of the Gulf Stream, the Bermuda sea water temperature remains quite temperate during the year.

However in winter months the temperature does drop and makes it quite uncomfortable for swimming or other water activities unless you wear wet suits.

All over the year, Bermuda's surface water temperature at the sea remains couple of degrees higher than the air temperature.

May through October are the hottest months. The average water temperature usually climbs to the highest levels in August. End of May, when Bermuda Day is held, many of the islanders by tradition take a dip into the water for the first time in the year. It really marks the beginning of summer time in Bermuda.

January through March is the winter season and the water temperature in Bermuda becomes the coolest. However the water visibility increases dramatically. So if you try diving or snorkeling in Bermuda with wet suits during winter, you will probably see the best ever marine life, coral reefs and shipwrecks
