Self guided walking tour of downtown Nassau

Nassau Land and Sea tour

 
This tour is conducted by Seahorse Sailing Adventures ... the first part in their catamaran on sea and the second part in their air-conditioned bus. The catamaran tour starts at Prince George Wharf in Nassau (where the cruise ship dock is located). You will cruise through Nassau Harbor and pass by Hog Island Lighthouse, Fort Montagu, The Nassau Sailing Club, The Cloisters etc as the guide shows you and explains the historical background of each. 
 
Once back to the dock, you will board the bus and visit several great attractions in Nassau including historic Fort Fincastle (here you can explore local shops), Queen Victoria Staircase, Bay street which is full of glittering shops and home to the famous Straw Market, Government House, picturesque Gregory's Arch and more. Horseback Riding

 
Happy Trails Stables is the only horse riding center in Nassau offering trail rides. They are located at Coral Harbor, about 25 minute drive from Nassau Downtown and have complimentary  pickup and drop services. They offer 6-days a week morning trail ride for 90 minutes. 
 
Once there, they will offer a brief riding lesson and then take you on the trails. You will go through the bushes and then reach a nearby quiet pristine beach in about 15 minutes. The beach is usually in Coral Harbor, or Adelaide village. Their stable is spanned across 2.3 acres and has 19 stalls, tack rooms, welcome bar and stabling area.

Segway Tours

 
Two-wheeled battery operated self-balancing machines are a nice way to explore the harbor-side and the downtown shopping area in Nassau. They offer pick up and drop service from the cruise terminal. Once you reach their base about 1 mile away from the cruise terminal towards west downtown, they give you a 15-minute instruction on how to ride. 
 
Then you are on your own to roll on... the tours goes by the harbor-side all the way to Junkanoo beach and returns as you pass the glittering shops and eateries along the way. Tour lasts for 90 minutes including instructions and costs $75 per person.
