Somerset Country Squire Pub & Restaurant

$$, British Cuisine

Located in Somerset Village in Sandys Parish, Somerset Country Squire is one of the traditional British style Pub and Restaurants in Bermuda. As You enter through a moon gate, there is a raised large open air terrace with shaded seating. View of the Mangrove bay from here is just marvelous.

Somerset Country Squire started its operation in 1989 with few tables and chairs. Since then it has gone a long way. Today it can accommodate a private party of up to 500. There is an inside restaurant and a downstairs bar as well. There are TVs in the downstairs bar running sports channels. If weather permits, barbecues are held on Sunday through Tuesday nights during the summer months. Outdoor dining is a la carte in the open air.

The fish chowder (a tomato based soup with ground fish heads and other ingredients) is supposed to be the best here. The food here includes pub grub, fresh local fish, traditional roast beef and lot more. Local Bermudian favorites are curried mussel pie and fresh Bermuda tuna or wahoo. There is a also a local specialty called the Captain's Favorite that includes Wahoo, Tuna and shrimps broiled in garlic sauce. You can certainly try this.
