Bermuda Crewed Charter Boats
Yacht or boat charters in Bermuda offer great sailing experience in a private group. Boat charters in Bermuda are not exactly cheap. But if you want exclusive experience of exploring water areas & islands, glass bottom views of corals & marine life, sunset views, BBQ on board, cocktail party etc, Bermuda boat chartering is the way to go.
You can even combine activities like swimming, snorkeling or kayaking with the private boating trip. If you are planning to be in Bermuda in a private group of 20 or so, a boat charter may turn out to be an easily affordable option. If you are on a honeymoon, you are liberal anyway on spending ;-)
During our many vacations in Bermuda, we had gone around to find out the best charter boat operators, offering best of yachts, catamarans and motorized boats at an affordable prices. We figured out that in Bermuda there are more than 20 power cruisers and sailing boats piloted by experienced local captains which are available for charters.
Primarily 30 to 60-foot boats, most charter yachts or boats can carry up to 30 persons, and some even offer overnight sailing. There are of course small self driven motorboats
too available on rental which are good for 2 to 6 persons (depending on size).
There are few charter boats that have much larger capacity of about 200 or even more. These are usually chartered for corporate excursion or wedding parties, and are quite expensive. In a charter cruise, where you go and what you do is usually up to you and the captain of the boat. Usually the captains prefer travelling to and around the small islands of the Great Sound
water area. This is a relatively calm and protected water area.
Several captains advertise year-round operations, but the off-season schedules can be quite irregular. Captains usually use this off-season period for maintenance and repairs. Sometimes they close the operation altogether if bookings are low.
During the high season (May to October), there is usually a large demand for Bermuda boat charter. Incase you are looking to charter a boat in Bermuda, it’s advisable to book well in advance and before you reach the island.
