Bacci is located within the
Fairmont Southampton Hotel in Bermuda and set up on the upper floor of the golf clubhouse. It has a sweeping view of the manicured golf course of the hotel and the ocean at a distance. Bacci is one of the best Italian restaurants in Bermuda.
When it was inaugurated, there was a lot of vibration and talks all around the island that a very special Italian restaurant is being set up at the Fairmont.
This is a family friendly restaurant. Particularly during the early dinner time, you will find many families with children relishing on the great Italian dishes. However the atmosphere is good for even couples to have a cozy nice dinner.
The name of the restaurant Bacci actually stands for Quick and Friendly Kisses. With red, white, yellow and pastel colors, the restaurant really looks bright and vibrant. The bar here is quite busy mostly with those having drinks after dinner.
Although the menu here is not very elaborate, the chefs prepare excellent dishes with flavors from different regions of Italy.
The dishes like the lasagna or the antipasto buffet, the fettuccine alfredo, the spaghetti carbonara, or the fresh homemade pastas here are really quite special.
Some of the other very popular dishes include grilled fresh fish like the red snapper in parchment with capers and tomatoes, the rib-eye steaks served over beds of risotto.
Daily offerings include prosciutto hams and salamis, artichokes and olives, and an assortment of cheeses and salads. Try Tiramisu or Fonduta for desserts. The portions served in the restaurant are quite large.
The restaurant has a separate kids menu and also offers take-away food. They also have Lifestyle Cuisine where dishes are prepared for specific dietary requirements.
Reservations are recommended. Dress code is smart casual. They accept credit cards.
Update (Feb 2011): A new chef Alejandro Martinez Gaudiano has joined Bacci and has introduced many Italian specialty dishes including spaghetti alla pescatora, cappellini con astice and wild mushroom risotto.
He has been earlier a chef of Poggio alla Sala, a 4-star resort in Montepulciano, Italy. Bacci has also introduced a take out service, Bacci-to-go, and you will also get the specialty dishes as part of this service.
