Burger Bar at Wickets, Bermuda $$, American
Located at the Fairmont Southampton Hotel in Bermuda, Wickets Restaurant was once dedicated to Cricket lovers for sure. The name is derived from the game of Cricket where the batsman takes guard against the wickets at which the bowler bowls. The walls with huge posters of the cricket matches and players create a club like atmosphere.
However in end-2012, the restaurant has undergone changes in its theme. Although the inside dining still exists, the focus is now mainly on pool side dining. Also the menu has changed from Bermudian/American to burgers & wraps. Wickets is located at the lower level of the hotel's lobby and overlooks the pool with a nice view of the ocean at a distance.
The restaurant although serves lunch and dinner, is mostly crowded during the lunch time. You will often find many Bermudian families joining with their children and most are sitting by the pool side. Outside guests are also allowed to take a dip into the pool. There is a separate menu for children and this is a kids friendly restaurant as well.
