Gulfstream Restaurant Bermuda
$$, Italian and Seafood
This is a relatively small and new restaurant on South Road opened in February 2014 and owned by the Dining Bermuda Group which also owns couple of other nice restaurants in the island. The restaurant has a great location advantage.
It's the only proper restaurant opposite the famous Horseshoe Bay Beach and on the main road. Although this roadside restaurant itself doesn't offer any ocean views, it gives you an opportunity to have some nice food and cocktails after a great beach day.
Gulfstream Restaurant
This restaurant has replaced the earlier Italian restaurant Tio Pepe which operated for many years. With change in ownership, the restaurant has also gone through complete change in its makeover and look and feel. While we do miss Tio Pepe, Gulfstream also offers a nice and cozy ambience. While there is inside dining, they also have outside dining on a covered deck.
Inside Dining
Gulfstream offers lunch and dinner. The food is essentially pizzas, paninis, sandwiches and wraps, seafood and selected international dishes. They serve lobsters in season.
Lunch menu is shorter... you will get soups (including Bermuda fish chowder), starters like crispy calamari, nachos, shrimp cocktail etc, good range of thin crusted pizzas (several varieties and quite good in taste), sandwiches, wraps and burgers, salads etc. We liked the sausage and onion pizzas.
Dinner menu is quite elaborate. You get all of lunch menu plus a lot more. In starters you can try beef carpaccio tiradito, smoked buffalo mozzarella with prosci, or jumbo shrimp tempura. Roasted duck spring rolls are also quite nice.

In main courses some good choices are ravioli with lobster, grilled fish of the day (usually the day's catch like wahoo), crab cakes, chicken stuffed with ham and vegetables. They also serve Italian dishes like meat lasgna, pastas etc. Other than pastas, the main courses are served with vegetables, potatoes or rice.

In desserts they are several choices like chocolate and almond tart served with vanilla ice cream, toffee pudding, creme brulee, fresh fruits, assorted cheese platter etc.
The staffs are friendly although the service is a bit sluggish. They accept credit cards. Reservation is recommended. To get assured reservation, you should call them up over phone and book a table. While you can walk in without reservation, the staffs tend to expect everyone has prior table bookings. Dress code is smart casual.
