Warwick Academy, Bermuda

 
 
Warwick Academy was established in the 17th century in Warwick Parish of Bermuda and is one of the oldest schools in the whole of western world. Over the centuries the school has gone through several changes and now is one of the top schools in the island. 
 
Earlier it used to be a Government run secondary school. But since 1992, it has become a private mixed-sex school for students between 5 to 19 years. 
 
There are over 750 students in Warwick Academy. The stated objectives of the schools is to provide world class education to its students with respect to academic development and achievement, social growth and orientation, and the development of international perspective. 
 
 
 
Warwick Academy follows the UK based education model and also includes International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma course. The school education program comprises of the following: 
 
- Primary school: Year 1 to year 6;  
- Middle school: year 7 to year 9;  
- IGCSE/GCSE: Year 10 and year 11; and  
- International Baccalaureate (IB) course: Year 12 and year 13. 
 
Community service is mandatory for students in years 7 to 9. All students are required to participate in at least two extra curricular activities. The school offers a wide range of sports, musical and other extra-curricular activities. A new facility was opened in may 2005, which now provides a full-size Sports Hall, new bathrooms, changing rooms and upgraded swimming pool. 
 
Warwick academy follows strict dress codes and system of discipline. Boys up to year 9 must wear khaki shorts with navy long socks during the summer time. There are disciplinary demerit points. If a student gets such demerit points, he or she will need to work that off by attending detention on Saturdays or doing extra work. 
 
On the other hand, there is recognition for good work or results. Merit points are given for outstanding achievements in the school. Rewards or prizes are given away against the merit points. 
 

Fees

 
The school fees (i.e. tuition fee) for the academic year 2020/2021 is $20,448 annually and payable in three equal installments, one term in advance. 
 

Open Hours

 
Warwick Academy is open between 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (Monday through Friday) while in session (September–June). The office is open between 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. even on holidays. You can contact them to arrange for a campus tour.
