Dawkins Manor apartments have eight nice units and located in a quiet rural lane in Paget Parish. Run by the owner and hostess Celia Dawkins, this property has won a number of awards from tourism department of Bermuda. Some of the awards include Merit Award, Environmental Award, Crime Prevention Award and such. Out of the eight units, seven are equipped with full kitchen and one with microwave oven, coffeemaker and refrigerator.
Each unit has telephone, air-conditioning, full private bath, clock radio, hair dryer and iron boards. Some units feature private patios and entrances. There are TV's in all rooms. There is also a family-sized lounge with TV. High speed internet service is available in the property.
One of the main advantages of Dawkins Manor is its location. The bus stop is only couple of blocks away at an easy walking distance. Hamilton City (with all its great restaurants, pubs and shops) is about ten minutes ride by scooter or bus. The large grocery store Modern Mart is less than 5 minutes walk from the property down the hill. So if you plan to cook, just walk down to the grocery store, by food and stock your fridge. Kitchen is small but good enough.
The lovely
Elbow Beach is less than 10 minutes walk from Dawkins Manor. The other South Shore beaches are only few minutes ride. The
Paget Marsh Nature Reserve and the
Railway Trails are also close by. Within a few minutes walk there is a bank ATM. There is wi-fi, but not free. It may not work in all rooms either. So check that out before going for it.
My overall opinion
This is a very clean property and conveniently located. It's ideal for self catering stay as it has fully equipped kitchens with most units and the grocery store is also at an easy walking distance. What more... it has a pool and the pretty Elbow Beach is within 7-8 minutes walk.
So if you are looking for a quiet stay, friendly and helpful hostess, and convenient location at an affordable price, Dawkins Manor can be a great choice.
