Accreditation of Bermuda College

PAGE DEINDEXED
Bermuda College has been given the accreditation status In November 2010 by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). This is the same accrediting agency that validates the prestigious league of institutions in the US like the MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), Harvard University and the Yale University.

So what does this accreditation now imply for Bermuda College and its students? Essentially an endorsement to the quality and the standard of education. It is anticipated that with such accreditation, the students passing out of Bermuda College with Associate Degree should be able to transfer their education credits to overseas universities more easily for further education.

Bermuda College President Ms. Duranda Greene stated: "Accreditation provides proof of the quality education and instruction available at Bermuda College, providing Bermuda's students with the assurance that their transfer credits will be more readily accepted at four-year overseas institutions.

"It also satisfies our key constituents that Bermuda College meets the eleven rigorous standards, covering curriculum and administrative performance; human and financial resources; and its commitment to student success that are common to other higher education institutions in the United States and around the world".

The Bermuda College is the first institution in the Caribbean and Latin American regions to have been given such honor. It is only the seventh international institution to be accredited by New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).
