Primavera Restaurant & Omakase Sushi

UPDATE: Primavera has closed down in 2011 after 23 years. A new seafood restaurant Flying Fish came up here that was owned by the same Primavera group that owns Rustico and Dining Room. However Flying Fish too closed down in 2014.

Located in western Hamilton in Bermuda and close to Hamilton Princess, Primavera is an Italian restaurant. It also has a Sushi bar upstairs. The decor inside is quite elegant. The restaurant is known for its high back chairs and private booths offering lots of privacy to diners. 

 

The owner Odilio Angeli is from Italy and has recently renovated the restaurant and it looks much better now with the upgrades. The dishes here have flavor from various places of Italy including that of Sicilian, Sardinian and Roman cuisine. You can see live oysters in a tank to get a feel of the freshness of the food served here. 

 

As starters, try out the fresh oysters or mussels served in marina sauce. In main courses, some of the favorites here include beef carpaccio, and the baby clams sautéed with white wine, garlic, and parsley. Other great choices would be tenderloin of beef in a peppercorn sauce, black ravioli filled with lobster meat with a pink sauce, thin beef slices in lemon sauce, soft shell crabs etc. There are 17 different types of pastas served by the restaurant. 

 

The Omakase sushi bar is upstairs, but you can ask for sushi items from the downstairs dining room as well. The Bermuda maki roll stuffed with crabmeat, avocado, and cucumber is excellent. There are many other sushi items including stuffed rolls for the vegetarians. A cup of cappuccino or an espresso would be a perfect way to finish off your meal. 

 

They accept credit cards. Dress code is smart casual. Reservation is recommended.

Open daily 11:45am-2:30pm and 6:30-10:30pm
