The owner Peter Jovetic started his own catering service in 1999. He originally came to Bermuda as a British chef in 1982 and later became a restaurant manager before starting his own catering business. Jovetic had earlier worked in Michelin starred restaurants like Alpenhof and the Waldhotel Friedrichsruhe and had also set up his own restaurant in Germany. The main theme of Food 4 Thought is to prepare meals from the scratch using fresh, local and sustainable ingredients.
And always serve enough food to feed the French Foreign Legion. They get their vegetables and herbs from the local
Wadson’s Farm. They also use the
Albatross Fisheries to get fresh mahi mahi, wahoo and rockfish.
Located in St. George, Food 4 Thought claims to be a boutique caterer rather than those taking cookie cutter approach like chicken wings and meatball fares. They usually try to understand the party composition and the guest profile before preparing their dishes but usually give a touch of Bermudian flavor to most of the dishes they prepare.
The company specializes in wedding parties, rehearsal dinners, private parties as well as corporate functions and events.
They have recently launched a delivery service called Supper Solution providing home delivery of freshly cooked meals. While most of the Bermudians tend to heat up frozen convenience meals in microwaves if they don't like to cook on a day, the company has introduced a far better and healthier option of delivering fresh food to the door step.
Although the menu for the delivery service changes every 3-4 weeks, the dishes in Supper Solutions typically include beef stroganoff, rockfish with a pineapple salsa, chicken tikka and salmon topped with pesto on mashed potatoes. There are also options for vegetarians as well as gluten free and diabetic meals.
They also provide customized meals depending on customers choice. The customers need to only order the food by the Wednesday of previous week and the food would be prepared over the week end.
Food 4 Thought won the Caterer of the year in 2010 from Bermuda Business Association.
